6/14/15 Fishing trip
Found some decent Fluke action off Milestone. Caught 16 shorts to get to 1 20" keeper. Tried a few spots in the niantic river for winter Flounder on the slack high tide but came up empty for 1 1/2 hours effort. Went out looking for Stripers and found plenty of bait and fish. Worked for about an hour to get our 2 fish limit and then back to Fluking. The Stripers went 33 and 38 inches and a 24 " schoolie that went back for a swim. Water temps were 59 degrees in the sound. Looking forward to the opening of sea bass on the 20 th and blackfish on July 1 st. I expect the Blackfishing to be very good the first 2 or 3 weeks of July with the cooler than normal water temps.
