5/26/15 Fishing trip
Did a little exploring Monday the 25th. Water temps were 52 degrees at 6 a.m. and 54 around noon on the outer reefs. Found stripers on one of two local Reefs. Landed a 34 inch fish, lost a 36 inch class fish 10 feet from the boat with a nice head shake as it waved goodbye. Had a 40 " plus fish on based on the 80' of line she stripped in 8 seconds on the wire line hookup. Got 100 feet back with 200 to go when she lets go. Found more signs of life with 1 short fluke caught in Niantic bay for one hours effort. Tried for winter flounder at the brothers off rocky neck on the slack low and the only signs of life were 6 spider crabs and a skate. Will try the Niantic River on the slack high soon for winter flounder.
